Oral History of China’s Development Toward a Moderately Prosperous Society: My Republic Memory* is a collection of oral histories that documents China's social, economic, and political development since the founding of the People's Republic of China. Edited by Li Wei with Jia Dongmei, Zhang Tu, Tang Ping, and Lin Qiong, the book presents first-hand accounts from centenarians and other eyewitnesses who experienced major historical events and national transformations. Their narratives highlight changes in living standards, education, healthcare, infrastructure, rural and urban development, and the country's progress toward building a moderately prosperous society. By preserving personal memories alongside historical developments, the book provides valuable insights into China's modernization process and serves as an important resource for understanding contemporary Chinese history through the perspectives of those who lived it.
