Abstract

Looking into China through TCM Culture explores the essence of Chinese civilization through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The book introduces the historical origins, theoretical foundations, and modern development of TCM, showing how it reflects China’s philosophical worldview and cultural traditions. Through explanations of medical theories, practical applications, and case studies—such as the discovery of artemisinin and the role of TCM in addressing public health challenges—the author demonstrates the contribution of TCM to healthcare and its significance in Chinese cultural heritage. The work also highlights how TCM embodies holistic ideas such as harmony between humans and nature and balance within the body, presenting TCM as both a medical system and a window into Chinese culture and civilization.
