Abstract

This book presents a global narrative of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), highlighting its role as a major international development strategy led by China. Launched in 2013, the BRI aims to enhance connectivity and cooperation across Asia, Europe, Africa, and beyond through infrastructure development, trade facilitation, and cultural exchange. Through a collection of stories and case studies, the book illustrates how the initiative has impacted different countries and communities, focusing on improvements in infrastructure, economic opportunities, and people’s livelihoods. It emphasizes the idea of building a “community with a shared future for humanity,” showcasing diverse voices and experiences linked to BRI projects. The work also situates the initiative within a broader historical and global context, drawing parallels with the ancient Silk Road while presenting the BRI as a modern platform for inclusive globalization and international collaboration. Overall, the book argues that the Belt and Road Initiative represents a significant pathway for fostering global development, mutual benefit, and cross-cultural understanding in the 21st century
