Abstract

This book explains the background and development of economic and trade relations between China and the United States and presenting China’s position on the escalating trade disputes in 2018. It describes the mutually beneficial nature of China-U.S. economic cooperation, reviews the development of bilateral trade and investment relations, and discusses what China characterizes as U.S. protectionist and unilateral trade measures. It also examines the effects of these measures on the global economy and outlines China’s position and proposed approach to resolving trade differences through dialogue, consultation, equality, and cooperation.
