This book is a personal narrative and reflection based on Lisa Carducci’s nearly 30 years of life and work in China. It combines memoir with cultural observation as the author recounts her experiences in education, cultural engagement, public welfare, and writing across different regions and eras of modern China. Through a sincere and often humorous voice, Carducci explores the commonalities and differences between people from various cultures to reduce misunderstandings and prejudice.
