Abstract
This book examines the people-centered development philosophy as a core component of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, focusing on how China ensures and improves people’s livelihood.
It analyzes:
The theoretical foundation of a people-centered approach, rooted in Marxism and adapted to Chinese conditions
Policies aimed at improving social welfare systems, including social security, healthcare, employment, and income distribution
The relationship between economic development and human well-being, emphasizing that development must benefit the broad population
China’s achievements in poverty alleviation, public services, and social equity in the new era
The work argues that ensuring people’s livelihood is both the starting point and ultimate goal of governance, highlighting that development should prioritize people’s needs, dignity, and quality of life. This aligns with broader policy frameworks where improving living standards and guaranteeing social rights are central to modernization
