Research on perfecting the constitution-centered socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics Feng Yujun

Abstract

This work examines how to improve the socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics with the Constitution at its core. It responds to the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee's emphasis on following the path of socialist rule of law, building a socialist rule-of-law system, strengthening constitutional implementation, and improving legislation in key areas. The book systematically reviews more than three decades of China's development of the rule-of-law system and draws selectively on foreign experiences in legal-system development. The work also argues for strengthening the Constitution's central position within the legal system, improving constitutional review, and developing mechanisms for constitutional interpretation. Its contents include detailed discussions of the Chinese model of constitutional supervision and the practical significance and institutional problems of constitutional interpretation.
