Abstract

The Qing Dynasty archives are a treasure trove of materials for Qing history research, and their collation, publication, and academic exploration constitute a unique unit in the century-long history of Qing history research. Since the Xinhai Revolution, the dynastic attributes and imperial power have faded, and the archives have transformed into a source of historical materials, an objective object of academic research, and even a driving force for the development of the discipline. Based on a systematic review of the century-long history of the collation, publication, and research of Qing Dynasty archives, this book delves into the development of social and historical processes, the shifts in research focus and academic concepts, the long-term needs of Qing history compilation and cultural inheritance, the advancement of science and technology, and the continuous recognition and utilization of the academic value of Qing Dynasty archives, as well as the continuous exploration and highlighting of their unique characteristics and research space.
