dc.description.abstractUp and Out of Poverty is a collection of speeches and articles written by Xi Jinping between 1988 and 1990 when he worked in Ningde, Fujian Province. The book discusses strategies for poverty alleviation, economic development, governance, and social progress in underdeveloped regions. It presents ideas on strengthening local leadership, promoting reform and opening-up, and improving living conditions for rural communities. The writings reflect early policy thinking on development and poverty reduction in China.
